In this experiment,60pyometra dogs were selected,by clinical examination, laboratory examination, B altrasound examination, X rayexamination, bacteria isolation and identification, susceptibility test, selection of differenttherapeutic regiment. So as to provide basis for the diagnosis and treatment of Caninepyometra around Baoding region.The results as follows, Canine pyometra is caused by the effects of reproductivehormones and bacteria related with breed, age and birth history intimately of the dogs. Itusually happens in age of above6years old. About breed, Canine pyometra usuallyhappens in Pekingese, Shih Tzu, Chow Chow, Jing Ba quan. According to body type: themorbility of large breed dogs was25%，small breed dogs was30%，and middle breed dogswas45%. According to cervical os opened or not, Canine pyometra was divided into opentype and atresia type. The open type was40%, and the atresia type was60%. According tobirth history, no birth history was65%, having birth history was35%. Typical clinicalsymptoms as follows: abdominal circumference increased, the desire to drink increasedsignificantly, Vulva was sometimes outflow purulent. By blood routine examination, thenumber of neutrophils, lymphocytes increased, the nuclear of the white blood cell was leftshift, the amount of hemoglobin and red blood cells decreased gradually. Alanineaminotransferase, Aspartate aminotransferase, Alkaline phosphatase, Glutamate r-transferase, Urea in pyometra dogs sera increased, these showed the organism was ininfection state. It caused the liver and kidney function injury. B altrasound examination canshow multiple anechoic uniform liquid dark area more intuitively and directly. By bacteriaisolation, culture and biochemical identification, it showed the main pathogenic bacteriawas Bacillus coli, the other bacteria were Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenesrespectively. By susceptibility test, the pathogenic bacteria were sensitive tocephalosporins and quinolones drugs. By sections, endometrial glands expanded, and werefull of a large number of inflammatory cells, with various degrees of inflammatory reaction.By western medicine treatment, traditional Chinese veterinary medicine combined withacupuncture therapy, and surgical treatment, the good therapeutic effects were obtained.The curative rates were55%（11/20），45%(9/20)，and80%(16/20) respectively. Conclusion: Canine pyometra is caused by the effects of bacteria, it showed the mainpathogenic bacteria was Bacillus coli, the other bacteria were Staphylococcus aureus,Listeria monocytogenes respectively. By susceptibility test, the pathogenic bacteria weresensitive to cephalosporins and quinolones drugs. It usually happens in age of above6years old. About breed, Canine pyometra usually happens in Pekingese, Shih Tzu, ChowChow, Jing Ba do. B altrasound examination can show multiple anechoic uniform liquiddark area more intuitively and directly. All of the three therapeutic methods have fortes anddefects, comparatively speaking, surgical treatment is the main treatment method to cureCanine pyometra.
