Demodicosis canis is one of the most common skin diseases in veterinary clinics. It is difficult to cure and easy to repeat extremely. The dog is infected by demodicosis easily.Although the disease does not endanger the life of the dog,it can cause itching, hair loss and ulceration, which seriously threatens the health of the dog.In this study, the epidemiological investigation, isolation and identification of the pathogens of Demodicosis canis in Baoding Region,Hebei Province were made in order to clarify the occurrence of the disease. Then, the dogs with Demodicosis were divided into groups, different treatment plans were adopted to determine the effective treatment plan for the Demodicosis canis by changements of the blood indices and clinical symptoms of the dogs before, during and after treatment, which provides a reference for the treatment of this disease.Through investigation,it showed that the occurrence of Demodicosis canis was closely related to the season, the breed, age and body parts of the dog.In terms of dog breeds,Golden Retriever(15.14%),Poodle(11.99%)and French Bulldog(11.04%)had higher incidence, and the incidence of Hidio(0.32%)and Caucasian dogs(0.32%)was lower. From the age of the dog,the incidence of dogs aged 0-2(42.9%)and older dogs over 10 years old(22.40%)was higher, and the incidence of dogs aged 7-9 years(5.36%)was the lowest. From the onset of the dog,the incidence of limbs(27.63%),back(24.59%)and face(16.86%)was higher, and the lesions were less in the tail(3.05%)and whole body(3.75%).From the seasonal perspective, the incidence was mainly focused on May to October, with the higher incidence in May(14.51%),June(19.56%)and July(13.25%).Through the observation of clinical symptoms,it can be initially judged whether it's a Demodicosis canis infection. For further diagnosis,it can be confirmed the presence of Demodicosis by microscopic examination. In addition, the detection rates of three commonly Demodicosis detection methods were compared, and the detection rate of the plucking method(63.89%)was the highest. The dogs were randomly divided into 4 groups for one-month treatment.Group A was treated with medicated bath + oral medication, group B was treated with injection + oral medication, and group C was treated with injection + medicated bath, group D was injection therapy + oral drug + medicated bath treatment group.Changes of blood routine parameters and blood biochemical parameters of each group in the 14 th and 28 th day before and after treatment were observed. The results showed that before treatment, the red blood cells(RBC),hemoglobins(HGB)and platelets(PLT)in group A,B,C and D were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was significant(P<0.01).The white blood cells(WBC)in the four treatment groups were higher than those in the control group, and exceeded the normal range of the index, and the difference was extremely significant compared with the control group(P<0.01).On the 14 th day,the red blood cells(RBC)and hemoglobin(HGB)in group D had recovered to the normal range, and the platelet index(PLT)had not significant difference compared with the control group(P>0.05).On the 28 th day,the red blood cells(RBC),white blood cells(WBC)and platelets(PLT)in group C and D were not significantly different from those in the control group(P>0.05).The hemoglobin in each treatment group was not different from that in the control group(P>0.05).The biochemical parameters in Demodicosis canis were normal before treatment and after different treatment regimens. The results show that the occurrence of Demodicosis canis is closely related to the season, the breed of the dog,the age,and the body part.In the clinically commonly used method for detecting Demodicosis canis aphids, the method of plucking can be gradually used for diagnosis, and the detection rate is high, and the injury to the dog's skin can be avoided. The therapeutic effect on Demodicosis canis is best when combined with injection therapy, medicated bath therapy and oral drug therapy.
