The Treatment Of Pelvic Fractrue In Canine

[Objective]Canine pelvic has the important function of supporting the body weight and protecting the internal organs. Therefore, timely and accurate diagnosis and treatment of the sick animals plays a key role to recovery the normal function of skeletal, restore the normal movement of the body posture,reduce pain, improve the quality of pet life and improve the cure rate. The purpose of this study is to investigate the therapies and effect in different fractures of the pelvic in canine. [Method]This study collecting clinical 25 cases of canine pelvic fracture as the research objects, mainly discussed the 14 cases of canine pelvic fracture which were underwent treatment with complete records. According to fracture site of these 14 cases,we get statistics: ilium fracture in 7 cases, using bone board combined with screw internal fixation; acetabulum fracture in 1 case, fixed by wire loop; ischium fracture in 10 cases, one case fixed with steel wire loop, another 3 cases of ischium fracture were treated with bone plate and screw fixation; sacroiliac joint dislocation in 8 cases, including 6 cases with double screw internal fixation, 2 cases of single screw internal fixation; hip dislocation occurred in 1 case, repaired with other fracture together in vivo. There are 9 cases of pubis fractures, without any surgical treatment. [Results]Among 14 cases of pelvic fractures, one case happened secondary dislocation of the hip, another case occurred secondary fracture of the ilium, and the anthers 12 cases were recovered.. Postoperative follow-up visit about theses 14 cases showed that all of them restored normal exercise. This study about the treatment of pelvic fractures showed the first surgical cure rate was about 93%, the failure rate about 7%. [Conclusion] It has good effect to fix ilium fracture with bone board combined with screw,to fix acetabulum fracture by wire loop; to restore ischium fracture with steel wire loop or bone plate and screw, to repair sacroiliac joint dislocation with single/double screw internal fixation. The cure rate of internal fixation surgery treatment in pelvic fracture is high.
