The Investigation Of Dog Skin Disease In Hefei Area And The Establishment And Application Of The Differential Diagnosis Process

In order to learn systematic about the epidemic characteristics, occurrence regularity and the main pathogenesis of dog skin diseases, to establish a skin disease clinical differential diagnosis method which is more systematic, so as to improve the diagnosis accuracy of skin disease.The test investigate 579 cases of skin disease dogs in five pet hospitals between January to December 2013 in Hefei area. Through the epidemiological investigation, contrast, etiology, symptoms check, statistics and analysis, research the types of skin diseases, the incidence of various skin diseases and the relationship between skin diseases and season, age, sex, and pathogenic site, etc. At the same time, research the category and accuracy of routine diagnostic methods in animal skin disease. On the basis of the research, according to my own clinical experience combined with the literature to establish the differential diagnosis methods and processes of skin diseases and apply it in the clinical treatment.The results showed that in Hefei area the dog skin disease incidence was 21.45%, secondly only to the digestive system disease. It often happens between March to September. Its high-incidence season is between May to August. Incidence rates were 11.57%,13.47%,12.09% and 14.16%.The incidence of parasitic skin disease is the highest, which is 42.83%.And then it’s the fungal skin disease and bacterial skin disease, which accounted for 22.80% and 16.23%. In the parasitic skin disease, scabies is the highest incidence skin disease, accounting for 40.32%. In terms of age, the dog under 1 year old has the highest incidence of skin diseases which is 53.2%. Its mainly skin disease is parasitic skin disease, fungal skin disease and bacterial skin disease. Allergic skin diseases, the skin disease caused by endocrine disorder and autoimmune skin diseases are relatively rare. In the 579 cases of skin disease dogs, teddy 84 cases (14.51%), golden retrievers 63 cases (10.88%), Samoye dog 34 cases (5.87%), chow chow 34 cases (5.87%), more than other breeds of dogs. The total number of lesion site is 665, mainly occurs in limb (134 cases), ear (101 cases), humeral back (92 cases) and abdominal (75 cases).The survey found, the conventional method in the diagnosis of skin diseases were carding test, the wood’s lamp test, adhesive tape test, trichoscopy, scraping method, cytology, microbial culture, blood examination and histopathological examination. According to the survey results, summary the types, incidence, etiology and symptoms of the dog skin disease in Hefei area. (1).According to the symptoms of hair removal, divide the skin disease into symmetrical alopecia, non symmetrical alopecia and no hair remove or tumor. According to the morbidity, divide the non symmetrical alopecia into Common, uncommon and rare skin disease. And than according to the degree of itching and other clinical manifestations, establishment a skin disease diagnosis process from carding test, the wood’s lamp test, adhesive tape test, trichoscopy, scraping method, cytology, microbial culture, blood examination to histopathological examination.(2). According to the age of dog established a set of differential diagnosis process. Aplly it into clinical diagnosis and treatment. In the diagnosis and treatment of 150 cases of skin diseases in dogs, the effect is good. The diagnostic accuracy rate reached 100% and the cure rate reached 97.33%.According to the survey of five animal hospital of Hefei area, we found that there are many kinds of skin diseases in dogs and the etiology is complex. The routine diagnostic method were carding test, the wood’s lamp test, adhesive tape test, trichoscopy, scraping method, cytology, microbial culture, blood examination and histopathological examination. They have different emphasis and advantages and disadvantages in the diagnosis of different skin disease. For example:wood’s lamp is mainly used for the examination of Microsporum canis, scraping is mainly used for mite examination, trichoscopy is mainly used for Demodex and ringworm check, cytological examination is mainly used for the examination of bacteria, fungus and autoimmune skin diseases such as pemphigus. The survey found that the commonly used test methods in clinical diagnosis is wood’s lamp examination and scraping. The other method used less. Since the examination methods used were not systematic and comprehensive, it cause the skin disease erroneous diagnosis or missed diagnosis. In this paper, we establish a method for differential diagnosis of skin diseases which combined with a variety of inspection methods complementary advantages. First we differentiate the skin disease from classical symptom. Then From the common skin disease, uncommon skin disease to rare skin disease, inspect on different kinds of skin diseases step by step. And finally make a definite diagnosis. This method reduce the misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis, improve the effect of diagnosis and treatment. Since the number 150 cases is limited, where its effect is so good has yet to be further testing in clinical practice.
