In recent years, with the development of the economy, the construction market of China is also expanding rapidly, and both of the scope and difficulty in engineering construction are increasing, which brings a lot of new challenges as well as the opportunity for the construction enterprise. Due to the limited resources and the increase of the market demand, the multi-project management has become common in the construction enterprise. However, the multi-project management demands higher level management given by the enterprise. It is an efficient way to enhance the competitiveness of the enterprise by strengthening and improving the management level of the enterprise. And it is an important prerequisite to create a reasonable structure for improving the management level. Based on the structure, the corresponding management system can be established to raise the economic benefits of the enterprise.In this thesis, the concept, characteristics and category of the organizational structure was investigated, and the selection to an appropriate organizational structure was also studied according to the specific conditions of the enterprise. First of all, the main characteristics of traditional organizational structure was studied, including the functional organization structure, project organization structure, multidivisional structure, as well as matrix organization structure, and their advantages, disadvantages and applicable scopes were analyzed. Afterwards, matrix organizational structure, a prevalent organizational structure, was investigated in detail, including its building condition and generation process. It was found that the application of a matrix organizational structure in the enterprise could make full use of human resources and greatly improve the work efficiency. Then, this thesis had proposed an innovative organizational structure of "matrix+multidivision", based on the research about the matrix organization structure. This new structure not only retained the advantages of the organizational structure of the original matrix and multidivision system, but also eliminated their disadvantages, which was worth extending widely.Finally, the organizational structure of author’s workplace (noted as M company) is analyzed as a case. The organization structure of M company changed from the original function structure, followed by the matrix structure, and finally to the current "matrix+multidivision" structure. The variety of the organizational structure was owing to the scale of M company, the development and growth of its business. It was found that, the implement of "matrix+multidivision" structure had greatly improved the communication efficiency and frequency between the management leaders and the project department, and enhanced the enthusiasm of the employees. Besides, the company and the project department can respond rapidly to market changes after the use of the new structure. Therefore, the adaptation and competition of M company was strengthened in the market. In addition, this thesis has summarized the preparatory work need to be accomplished before the establishment of "matrix+multidivision" structure, as well as the attentions in the implementation.
