Research On The Specialized Development Strategy Of Tsuen Silver Seed Industry Co., Ltd

Agriculture has currently become the focus of international competition, while the seed is the most basic and the most important means of agricultural production, it’s in the forefront of agricultural industry chain, and plays a decisive role in the development of agriculture. Based on analyzing the development stage, the external environment, the industry environment of Chinese seed industry, this dissertation used he basic theory and tools of strategic research and development, advanced that Winall Seed Co., Ltd. should make full use of existing resources and capabilities, select and implement strategy of specialized operation. It also advanced appropriate implementations and risk development to the strategy. The strategy analysis in this dissertation is not only adapted to Winall Seed, but also important reference to other domestic seed enterprises.The dissertation consists of7parts. The first part is the introduction, briefly introduces the background, significance, logic framework, research methods, innovation and deficiencies of this topic. The second part is the basic concept and theory review, introduces Chinese seed industry, development strategy and professional development, reviews domestic and international development strategy theory. The third part is strategic environment analysis, utilizes PESTEL to scan the strategic environment, combining with the analysis of the value chain analysis, five-forces framework, industry life cycle, and strategic group. The fourth section analyses resources and capacity of the company. Above the third and the fourth section, in the fifth part, it employs SWOT analysis and critical success factors analysis, determines the strategic choice of Winall Seed’s professional strategy of development. The sixth part discusses and analyzes elements to the strategy implementation. Finally, the thesis concludes with potential future research directions.The unique contribution of this dissertation lies in three aspects. Firstly, it analyzes the life cycle of Chinese seed industry, and identifies the influential factors in seed industry’s competitive environment. Secondly, VRIO framework was systematically applied to spot the unique resource and the core competency of a given seed company. Thirdly, the dissertation strengthens the Winall Seed’s selection of professional strategy of development, together with suggestions on how to execute it. The deficiency that lies in this dissertation is that, professional and diversification are the two different business strategies for enterprises, they are not one or the other relations, it is difficult to draw a clear boundaries between them, there may be some deficiencies in the induce to Winall Hi-tech’s professional strategy of development.
