Mandarin fever is springing up all over the world, and the number of people who are learning Chinese is increasing swiftly. But under the situation of the incredibly growing of the international Chinese teaching, these problems become more and more obvious that the short of the well-qualified teacher and the educational resource and the needs of personalized education of the learners. As the development of modern technology and the popularity of the smartphone, more and more people pay attention on mobile learning due to its promising market, the international Chinese teaching field is no exception. Mobile learning Chinese application is being in the ascendant. Learning Chinese application of the smartphone has played the positive role in mitigating the problem of the lack of the well-qualified teacher and educational resource, and satisfying the needs of learners’personalized education.This research is original in its choice of the topic with a unique perspective. And the researcher material is original. This research is aiming at analyzing the features of the mobile learning Chinese application of the smartphone, making some suggestions for the design of mobile learning Chinese application, offering the inspiration for the supportive function of the mobile learning Chinese application in Chinese teaching.This research uses literature study, case study, content analysis and comparative research method. The paper unfolds its contents in six chapters. Chapter one, the origin, the research object, research content and research methods; Chapter two, the literature review; Chapter three, theoretical basis; Chapter four, the developing situation of mobile learning Chinses application; Chapter five, the comparison study between Duolingo and Chinese Skill; Chapter six, the investigation of the experience of the Chinese Skill’s users; Chapter seven, the suggestion and the relevant thinking for designing the mobile learning Chinese application of the smartphone.The author of this paper makes a thorough survey of the applications in the current market and analyzes their types and features. Based on this, the author also analyzes deeply Duolingo and Chinese Skill that both are the most popular learning language applications from the aspects of user interface, learning content, learning the process, and learning mechanics, and tries to summarize their advantages and disadvantages. Then, the author analyzes the comment of Chinese Skill given by the users in Google Play and requires a round understanding about mobile learning language application. In the end of the paper, the author suggests some advice and suggestions about the design of mobile learning language application. The research suggests:the mobile learning Chinese application should clearly find their own users’type, and design appropriately to the situation; the design of user interface should be proper, the content of the application should satisfy the demands of the targeted users, and the learning process should accord with the features of mobile learning; the gamification design will make the application more novel.
