A Study On The Cover Of The Southern People 's Weekly

As the first comprehensive character Newsweek of China, "Southern People Weekly" was founded in 2004.The cover story is the most important part of the whole magazine considering its people reporting orientation.I have studied a total of 196 cover stories,which are from June 2004 to December 2013.Through the study,I have concluded that :the identity of the cover people is diverse and they have distinct characteristics of the times and significant news features.Its widely reported issues related to all kinds of fields and have much more natures,which reflects a strong sense of social responsibility and human care.The essays have used a variety of narrative techniques.With the comprehensive application of cover images,colors and cover titles,the whole cover design demonstrate a sense of solemn and striking.Through the feedback of the audience,I found that the journal can only play a role in influencing what the audience to think.As I have studied the whole chain of transmission,its advantages and difficulties may have some inspiration to the other similar type of journals.
