Synergetic Design Of Informal Space Grid Structure And Long-span Architecture

The emergence of digital technique and rapid development of construction skill has brought great breakthrough in the form, structure and design method of long-span architecture. Meanwhile, a number of long-span architectures with duplicity, which deliberately pursue appealing appearance, have been set up here and there, causing severe wasting and deviation of aesthetic. In these cases, it ’s necessary for the design of modern long-span architectures to stick to the design philosophy of reasonable, appropriate, true expression, integration with structure, go back to the building itself and respect the characteristics of structure and consider every element and performance of the building to obey the philosophy of synergetic design.Informal space grid structure is a brand new structural form coming from the digital age. The thesis, based on the context of digital technique, studied the problems in informal space grid structure and long-span architecture in the vision of architecture. The thesis firstly defined informal space grid structure clearly in structural morphology, and analyzed its form evolution process, types, characteristics, applicable condition, on which the research of synergetic des ign of informal space grid structure and long-span architecture is built. Then it built the system frame of the synergetic design of informal space grid structure and long-span architecture from the theory of synergetics and the philosophy of structural performance, combining with plentiful examples and the background of digital design. The system, serving as the frame of the synergetic design process of informal space grid structure and long-span architecture, includes the philosophy of design, the factors of synergetic design effect, the principle of synergetic design and the methods of synergetic design in digital technique.Based on the characteristics of informal space grid structure and the design system above, the thesis then studied the strategies of synergetic design in six aspects: shaping of overall structural form, concept of texture, architectural translation, texture adjustment, joint treatment, and material selection. A series of detailed methods of synergetic design were proposed. Finally, the thesis applied and checked the design system and design strategies constructed in this thesis by actual synergetic design of informal space grid structure and long-span architecture experiments in digital technique, which further improved the solution in the process, strategies, methods of informal space grid structure and long-span architecture synergetic design and provided references to the theoretical research and practical design of this specific structure.
