The urban and rural residence in the hot Southern China, as the main purpose to shade, spontaneous set up awnings on the roof of a house.This non-formal means of shading often use inexpensive material, unexpected colors, disharmonious factors on the formation of the visual, continue to erode the urban and rural areas. But because of the heat insulation caused by the effect, even after long-term renovate urban and rural areas, still thrives, widely favored by the residents.This phenomenon is particularly evident in the district of AMoy Port. In order to effectively understand the ecological effect of the additional roof awning there, this article uses field research,physical measurement, computer modeling and other methods, and reflecting the roof awnings can effectively promote the thermal comfort of the gray space and the cover space of the room below at both the subjective and objective data. And the research proved that the roof awning is the simple and effective strategy adapted to the southern climate to insulate of heat, providing inspiration and reference for the climate design in the building project.Specifically, this thesis launches the research from the following three aspects:(1)Field research:In order to fully understand the value of roof awning, the author conduct a questionnaire during the AMoy Port’s residents, showing that more than ninety percent of the respondents recognized the thermal protection effect. The roof awning is the most famous Climate buffer layer, with the main purpose of protecting from the sun heat, followed by drying clothes.In addition, Iron sheet occupies the largest proportion of the shade(consistent with the following software simulation of sunshade material’s thermal effect).(2)the physical testing:To objectively understand the roof awnings actual thermal effect and the influence of time,during the summer of 2015, the author selected a black-net sunshade house and its adjacent bare-house in the AMoy Port as the research object,and tested the thermal environment parameters of the roof space and the coveredroom(including air temperature, air humidity, black ball temperature, roof beneath the ground surface and the room ceiling surface temperature, etc.), and calculate the roof space of WBGT,SET, and the PMV value of the shielding-rooms’ thermal comfort. Through comparing analysis of the parameters changes over time, researches show that Awnings effectively reduce the air temperature, black ball temperature, to ensure safety and outdoor thermal comfort of human body in the daytime; awnings for shielding room, effectively reduce the indoor air temperature, black ball temperature and improve the indoor thermal comfort of human body.(3) Computer simulations:In order to study the relationship between the material and structural height with the effect of the heat-insulation, the author use the simulation software of Designbuilder to simulate the actual situation, and analyze the results obtained masking indoor room air temperature, black ball temperature, the value of PMV changed with time, the result is similar to the measured basic compared with the measured data. Through simulation awnings of different material and structural height,the lower the light transmittance and the lower the height of the canopy structure, the better the heat insulation effect.
