Taking these factors into account in the design of modern residence,we get the idea of wooden box dwelling house.Timber is widely used in developed countries buildings because this material is extensively applied with the characteristic on the construction and the value on the esthetics. Now we have a long distance in the modern application with wooden structure compared to developed countries.There are still many limitations,for instance, the cognition of the material, choice with process, wooden construction technique, design method with wood and technique norm ,etc.Based on the comprehensive study of wooden structure ,the thesis presents an integral and macroscopical intention on design of wooden box dwelling house,considering current residence design mode. The thesis offers to extend the application of wooden structure system in wooden residence realm.The thesis has three chapter. Chapter 1 includes establishment of wooden structure application trend. Chapter 2 introduces the wooden constraction material and technique of North America. Chapter 3 analyses of the basic factors of different levels and typical spaces combine, bringing forward the design of the wooden box residence system.The thesis is roughly 50,000 word, figure 34, table 16.
