Since the post-academic institutionalization, the territory of science is expanding constantly and achieving success technically. Science, from a pure cognitive activity turning into a career with the stronger social functions. Since the 19 th century scientists have won the wide recognition, they do their best to explain the science to a career which is self-sufficient and significance. Although in the early 1970’s, knowledge-production mode of “Post-academic science” has emerged, universities and research institutions still follow the Merton’s norms of self-assessment practice today. People become “paper” academic, academic achievement growing explosively and higher engineering education also take the same way to assess; on the other hand, people find that, on the process of China’s new transformation of the supply side, seemingly scientific prosperity of academic provide rare innovation driven strategy to provide effective knowledge. Therefore, paying attention to the new trend of the production of scientific knowledge, making re-examination to different types of scientific target system and the production mode of scientific knowledge, reconstructing the scientific field specification is of significance regardless of the theory or practice.Firstly, this study is combing the scientific institutionalization process in modern times, find that, scientific from the cultural and legal economic utility purpose and singing the praises of God means, gradually turned into a career which is self-effective and subjected with a high degree of autonomy, becoming the main features of the Academy of Sciences, under the Merton’s norms, scientific field is self running. Since the middle 20 th, the intervention of the state of science, the expectation of practical function of social science, the need of social science and science itself on expensive equipment have led to the close combination of science and society. The traditional production mode of scientific knowledge need to turn to the "post academic science", science of engineering essentially has scientific academy features. Secondly, through a case study of Harbin institute of technology control and simulation center organization and knowledge of the production process, revealing a successful engineering science in the research objectives, organizational structure, management style has "after the experience of college scientific meaning then explain the production of science and engineering knowledge as the science of engineering, On the basis of the study of the engineering production mode of scientific knowledge: " super scientific field; its goal is to solve the problem of situational application; take interdisciplinary organization mode and multi dimension quality control standards.As a science engineering,should be emphasized:moderate universalism and particularism,considerate the interests of multiple meanings,knowledge and reasonable standard of expedient and negotiated norms.And then provide some enlightenment for China’s engineering education.
