Forklift truck is a kind of special hoisting machinery as well as a kind of handling vehicles. With the development of warehousing logistics industry, the forklift production achieved continuous growth. Various countries have been working to develop all kinds of forklift. As its high flexibility and mobility, the forklift has a brilliant prospect in application. The electric forklift designed in this paper has the advantage of high efficiency,energy saving, no pollution, low noise, good speed regulation performance and the convenient operation, which driven by electricity. So the market foreground is prosperous.On this basis, through understanding the tendency and significance of the forklift truck, the goals of product development are decided. Then taking, a certain 2t electric forklift as an example, the forklift’s main parameters, overall layout, critical systems and the main technical properties are introduced by the mature forklift case. The overall design is the essential part of new product design. According to the general parameters of the overall design, the key structure has been further designed. Nextly, the principal characteristics of the electric forklift and key structures are deliberately introduced. Finally,the structure analysis of work device and frame of the electric forklift are given.Based on the theory of mechanical vibration and the principle of infinite element analysis, static analysis and mode analysis for the key structures of the forklift has been completed with the FEA software ANSYS Workbench14.0. The stress, deformation,inherent frequencies of the work device and frame are obtained under full loading condition. The strength and stiffness of the structure is validated and the design is reasonable by comparing finite element results and the calculated results. The results of the finite element calculation have opened out the weak links of the structural and will offer some important referenced basis for the optimized design. Natural frequencies of these key structures above can be obtained by modal analysis. According to the contrast analysis of the natural frequency of the key structures and the excitation source, the performance of the whole body of forklift under dynamic working environment is analyzed and evaluated.
