| Cam Pha is a new city of QuangNinh province which was established in 2012. The city covers an area about 48,645 ha with the population of approximately 200.000. Cam Pha is a coastal urban. It is one of the cities where the exploitation and production of the country’s biggest coal. In which, the exploitation and production of coal of Cam Pha city accounted 70% of the province production and contributing significantly to national economy. In addition, the formation of the major economic centers in the province such as Van Don economic zone, Hai Ba industrial seaport Zone, MongCai economic zone and the border belt along National Highway No. 4B has promoted Cam Pha become a modern industrial urban and suitable development.As evaluates in the current and the future situation, coal energy of Vietnam is still dominates and superiority. However, coal is non-renewable resources. Therefore, if economic development of the city involves to the development of urban space, infrastructure for serve the people’s life only reply on coal resources, natural resources of coal would soon depleted. Besides, the coal mining also causes for impacts on ecosystems and environment.Besides the coal resources, Cam Pha city have also 50 km long coast, whichis very advantages for the development of marine economy and marine tourism. In addition, Cam Pha have also strongly advantages in industrial development such as thermal, mechanical, building and materials. However, there are still exist many factors that must be considered. For example, road network for internal and external relations should be expanded matching new development demand. Bus station systems needs to be expanded. The systems of industrial clusters, business center services, green areas and sports, tourism zones and new residential areas should be improved.With the strategic overall development of QuangNinh province, new industrial development as Cam Pha should be planning long-term development directions in the future such as modern infrastructure, uniform, clean environment and beautiful green landscape. Development of the economy less dependent on existing coal resources is an urgent task and very necessary. |
