Artificial Grass Tufting is becoming more and more important. As the research of the artificial turf machine is still in its infancy in the domestic. In this paper, taking the transmission and actuators of the five meters wide artificial turf machine as the research object, and the key technology which involves is studied.This paper is based on the transverse project “Research and development of BLT5 CNC equipment(artificial grass tufting machine)” of our university and the large enterprise in Shandong. Artificial grass tufting machines of 5M width is chosen as the study object. Motion characteristic analysis and study of crank-rocker mechanism driven by six eccentric adjusting disks is put forward, and then the dynamic simulation and optimization and modal analysis are done. Specific research contents and methods will be shown as follows:(1) A large number of relevant literatures are consulted and the development history and present situation of artificial grass tufting machine of domestic and abroad is understood. The relevant product case is referred and related technical indicators are familiar with. The overall design scheme of prototype is determined and the drawing work of parts and assembly of the plane and three-dimensional of the prototype is finished. These methods that reverse engineering is used to survey the machine and virtual prototype technology of computer software is used to transform solid parts of the machine into three dimensional digital models. It provides a basis for further analysis of machine mechanical structure.(2) Combined with Matlab/Simulink which are the simulation software, the dynamic simulation of BLT5 artificial grass tufting machine is finished. Matlab/Simulink is used to do the Motion characteristic analysis and analysis the rocker and the slider displacement, velocity, acceleration and angular velocity, and then structure optimization design will be done.(3)Solid Works is used to collect data, and then kinetic equations are established for each member of crank rocker mechanism. Combined with Matlab, Calculate the constraints reaction force which the spindle applied to each bar group.(4) ANSYS software is used to do the statics and modal analysis of the link, analyzing the stress and deformation in the given constraints and equivalent stress state. At last, the modal analysis module is used to analyze the first to sixth order’s natural frequency and vibration model, and then test the shaft strength and stiffness based on the results of the finite element analysis.
