Of traditional Chinese creation culture in the long history of continuous development and evolution is about Chinese traditional hollow objects to its rich modeling performance,and the profound traditional culture, the interpretation of the hollow element unique artistic charm. Hollow, as a kind of traditional art and culture, as early as the Neolithic Age of 5,000 years ago has been found by humans and understanding. Hollow, with its magical and transparent, overlapping effect, embodies a unique form of beauty. In visual often gives a sense of pure psychic, shadows whirling like sunshine through the leaves, swaying in the wind, accompanied by fresh natural and classical aesthetic atmosphere. The art and culture of hollow elements in China since ancient times has been passed so far and widely used, is historical treasures. It in different historical stages also formed the different typical representative, such as hollow jade, money hollow, hollow mirror, openwork incense ball,hollow grain bottles, stencil paper cutting a series of art form. Although the different physical forms are different, all have hollow body beauty. It has a strong expressive force,but also has been applied in various fields of design. In our daily life, see everywhere in the architectural design, product design, art design has pierced the artistic effect.The hollow element as the research object is based on the product packaging design as a medium, the use of literature retrieval method, case analysis, interdisciplinary research method, on the application of hollow elements in product packaging design of reasonable analysis and further research. The first part: hollowing out products packaging design concept and "hollow" the origin and development are described; the second part: the Chinese traditional stencil artifacts in the hollowed out elements contained in the cultural philosophy and aesthetics were extraction and analysis, and then summarized as one of the traditional art and culture of the hollow element in product packaging design, different forms of performance and unique aesthetic conception. The third part: from the hollow products packaging design decorative graphics, language text, color images, practical materials on the application of rational analysis, and explored the performance of Chinese traditional culture art of hollow elements, is how modern product packaging design and integration, reflect the humanistic spirit of the connotation of Chinese traditional culture and the Chinese people.Today, relying on the traditional ethnic and modern consciousness at the same time,the hollow element and product packaging design integration, not only has the unique aesthetic, the pursuit of material and spiritual pursuit of the combined, so as to realize the hollow packaging design of nationalization and globalization. And application of hollowelements in product packaging design not only reflects the history and culture of China,Chinese traditional art inheritance and continuity. Guide the development and design of the field of modern product packaging design by the use of the artistic characteristics of hollow elements, we should constantly think with exploration.
