SI Box Impress Problem Investigation And Improvement Base On Six Sigma

Nowadays, carton as a packaging material has been widely used in electronic production. In our daily life, it can also be noticed that more and more companies has been paying attention to the quality of packing box. There are several factors affecting the quality,such as flaws caused by designers and/or suppliers, unforeseen problem during transportation, etc.This paper focused on the application of six-sigma management in carton package field,specifically on the quality improvement of carton impress for mobile phones. According to the six-sigma DMAIC frame module, we firstly selected the major flaw in carton production based on the percentages of each possible cause and we finally determined carton impress to be the priority research objective. Then, by brain storm in terms of five perspectives: people, machine, material, legislation and environment, we defined the depth of mobile phone packaging box and the length of carton as prime parameters to be measured. Next, we systematically analyzed the depth of the cartons with and without adding supplementary materials. Finally, we recommended that the most economical and effective option is to place the cartons vertically. Moreover, we proposed SOP and P management to control the quality in long term.Last but not the least, This paper looked into future of the application of six-sigma management in the related projects and proposed the strategies how to learn and promote this management in long term.
