Design management centers on the setting and implementation of the process,and whether this process matches with the design project has great influence on the project schedule and quality control.The fabricated municipal bridge,a new bridge building mode,improves construction efficiency,reduces the influence on periphery environment and is widely recognized and promoted because its components are prefabricated in factories and assembled on site.Though the building technique and management of the fabricated municipal bridge are increasingly mature,a design management process specific to its design characteristics is absent.Instead,the traditional method is still adopted,which,to some extent,weakens its advantages.In such a background,this thesis,based on the status quo of the design and management process of the fabricated municipal bridge,uses the six sigma management method to analyze and improve the management process.In accordance with characteristics of the design of prefabricated municipal bridges,this paper analyzed their discrepancies from the design and management process starting from existing problems in such process at present,and further,the influence of such discrepancies on the design schedule and the management of design quality,and key influencing factors behind,thus providing a basis for the improvement of the design process.Referring to the DMAIC method for management process improvement under Six Sigma management theory,through definition,measurement,analysis,improvement and control of the design and management process of prefabricated municipal bridges,improvements of the process were put forward.To verify it in practice,the improved design and management process was applied to the management of design in the prefabricated municipal bridge project—Nanning B Urban Interchange Project,and acquired favorable effects,including significantly quickened design schedule;and the improvement results evaluated,which found the improved design and management process of higher maturity.On the basis of theoretical analysis,this thesis modifies the linear operation mode of status quo design,review and verification process into the parallel running mode through the six sigma management theory and the DMAIC process improvement method.Besides,it proves that the process becomes more effective after the process improvement,the design schedule is obviously accelerated and the work efficiency is advanced.
