Along with the prosperity of the market economy and the rapid development of the logistics industry, cushioning packaging of products become more and more important. Less packaging will cause damage to the product, and more packaging will result in a waste of resources, so the reasonable research of products packaging has great significance. Because of the brittleness of PC server, the value of impact acceleration is low, and the influence of external excitation is obvious. In the process of transportation, storage, loading and unloading, the PC server may be damaged due to the external vibration or shock excitation, so it is important to evaluate the buffer packaging of PC server.In this paper, we first study the circulation environment of the PC Server package, and analyze the vibration and impact environment which may be experienced during the process of packaging. Analyzing the stress and damage form of products, and using the method of empirical formula and analogy method to determine the fragility of the product. Secondly, based on the vibration theory and impact theory of dynamics, the three-dimensional six degree of freedom dynamic model of PC server is established by using the Lagrange equation. And solved the natural frequencies of packages, harmonic base excitation of forced vibration, package drop impact response and packages translational velocity impact response. Then experiments of the packages were carried out include sweep vibration test, drop impact test and horizontal impact test. The natural frequency of the package, the response acceleration of the resonance, the acceleration of the drop impact response and the acceleration of the horizontal shock response are obtained. Comparing the experimental results with the dynamic modeling results, the correctness of the dynamic model is verified, and the reasons of the error were analyzed. The error of acceleration response of the natural frequency and the impact of the cushioning packaging products were less than 15%. Which means the model can reflect the mechanical properties of packages well. Without considering the nonlinear characteristics of the buffer, cushioning effect of outer packing box and other reasons, the drop impact acceleration response error is a little large, which is about 17.40%.Finally, according to the characteristics of the packaging, using Solid Works software to establish the three-dimensional solid model of PC server buffer packaging. The finite element model is established in ANSYS Workbench. Modal analysis and transient dynamic analysis are carried out to obtain the acceleration response curve of the server package. The sweep frequency vibration test and the ANSYS finite element simulation result trend is consistent, and the numerical difference is small. It shows that the model reflects the main features of the package, and it can better reflect the vibration characteristics of the package. The simulation results show that the more close to the upper acceleration response, the smaller the equivalent stress is, and should be taken into consideration in the design and improvement of packaging.
