| Today’s elementary school education model is undergoing tremendous changes. The traditional test-oriented education model is gradually replaced by a new student-led education model. How to respond to this change has become a problem that must be considered in the design of elementary school teaching buildings. In addition, the construction of elementary schools in China is also facing the dual challenges of surging demand for education space and intensive land use. Thus, under the interaction of such multiple factors,China’s primary school teaching building design seems to get into a trouble. However, after re-understanding the space demands of the new education model,it can be found that the dual core of the transformation of the informal learning space outside the classroom in the elementary school teaching building and the development of China’s elementary school construction has become focus of the design of the elementary school teaching building in China. How to rationally design informal learning spaces, through which the unfavorable factors of tight land use restrictions can be converted into an opportunity for the reform of the informal learning space model in elementary school teaching in China, has become a question worth thinking about. The study firstly interprets informal learning from the perspective of learning theory, and then conducts an investigation of primary school teaching activities to analyze the categories and types of informal learning spaces in primary school teaching buildings. As a result, the study of designing informal learning spaces in primary school teaching has a solid foundation. From the in-depth interpretation of the current new elementary school education model, the study extracts its space appeal.Combined with the actual design case analysis, the strategy of informal learning space design of elementary school teaching architecture and the development direction of elementary school teaching architecture are summarized. |
