Impact Evaluation Of Subway Construction On Commercial Atmosphere Of Downtown Blocks

With the large scale population aggregation in the cities, traffic problems have become a big concern for society. The development of subway meets the need for the better traffic, and it has been widely accepted in most large cities. The commercial blocks are quite important for citizens, and a high flow of customer traffic is a main character, which makes the subway construction quite popular in downtown blocks. However, the construction process may damage the commercial atmosphere, and how to evaluate the impacts of the construction on it deserves special attention.The thesis reviewed the related literature, and analyzed the essential factors for the commercial atmosphere and the negative effects of subway constructions. And then analyzed how the negative factors affect the commercial atmosphere. To evaluate the impacts, an evaluation system was established.The results showed that the main market players, the commercial space, the supporting facilities, the commercial activities and commercial experiences are the essential factors of commercial atmosphere. The construction of subways might resulted in negative effects such as vibration, noises, air pollution. The evaluation system consisted of five criterion layer indicators and seventeen scheme indicators, in which the analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation were used. The case study confirmed the validation of the evaluation system.
