Along with the incessantly rapid development of science as well as the diversity of the social culture, new life styles and consumer groups emerge one after another, and the consumer idea has been changed from "quantity expense","quality expense" to "emotionality expense" . Meanwhile, commercial space that combines many functions such as shopping, leisure, entertainment, communication and so on in one, have been "the third space" after home and work places. The concept of its environment design transforms to humanity and emotionality. Therefore, this paper proposes the concept of ergonomic atmosphere design and treats of its using in commercial spaces, which provides the theory support for the environment design and atmosphere building of commercial spaces.First, this paper has made a system elaboration about "the ergonomic atmosphere design" in the etymology and the theory origin and has been clear about the objects of the study, then it also analyzes the relationship between atmosphere design and ergonomic, as well as the emotion, pointing out the research scope of ergonomic atmosphere design.By the methods of observation, literature reading, comprehensive analysis and so on, the author propose the sensation model of ergonomic atmosphere design in commercial space in view of the problems existing in environment atmosphere design , based on the consumer sensation theory. This model analyses ergonomic atmosphere design in four aspects: the environment atmosphere, the service atmosphere, consumer's own attribute and sensation. In all of these foundations, the paper analyzed the principle which ergonomic atmosphere design should follow, that is, systematic ness, subject, regionality, culture, ecologic, participation, fuzziness. In the concrete design process, we can take actions in creating environment atmosphere and service atmosphere. Finally, analyses the development trend of ergonomic atmosphere design in commercial space under the experience economy time background.The research of this paper makes certain guiding significance to atmosphere design of domestic commercial spaces and provides some reference value to other design of kinds of spaces when importing humanity and emotionality. This topic also could be the foundation of the following research.
