With the rapid development of air transport industry, there is a sharp increase in the passenger traffic. The airport’s terminal as a crowded area, if departure process of passengers progress too slow, it will inevitably increase the passengers’retention time, and are likely to cause mass incidents. It is not conducive to enhance the passengers travel experience, also have a negative impact on air travel. Using computer technology to simulate and optimize the departure process of passengers in terminal, the key factors which affect the efficiency of passengers’departure business can be accurately analyzed. It can optimize the allocation of terminal’s resource under the premise that without consuming physical resources, also improve operational ability of terminal, and avoid wasting resources caused by design defects or the errors of experience.This paper select Anylogic software to simulate the whole process that passengers departure from the airport terminal. In order to obtain the required parameters of simulation, the paper survey the behavioral characteristics of passengers and the performance characteristics of terminal’s facilities. The survey of passengers’behavioral characteristics include:the expectation walking speed of passengers, the spatial dimensions of passengers, the check in proportion of self-service, the proportion of passengers who carry aviation contraband, the arrival distribution of peak hour and so on. The survey of performance characteristics of terminal facilities include:to obtain the CAD layout of Mianyang Airport, to statistic the number of service counters and staff, to statistic the service time of each functional unit. Finally, using mathematical method to deal with the sample of collected data, and then obtaining the distribution of the required simulation service parameters.This paper establish simulation model of passengers departure process which based on Anylogic. According to ’Airport Operation Security Standard’ issued by the Civil Aviation Authority to analyze the operation bottleneck of Mianyang Airport terminal during the peak hour of passenger flow. The simulation find out the conclusion is that the process of check-in and security check are overload operating. Finally evaluating the optimization program of departure process by simulation model, obtaining the optimal program of departure process: increase the check-in counter, kiosk, the security lines and check-in with a serpentine queue.
