The Research On The External Space Design Of The Hopsca Under The Compact City Theory Influence

China is experiencing a rapid and unprecedented process of urbanization and short land resource supply accompanied with the rapid economic development. Simultaneously, people’s requirement for a better urban quality of living and working has gradually improved. Compact city as a sustainable development model of high-density urban form is of great reference value for China to deal with urban development and updating. HOPSCA is a nature production of urbanization development, a kind of urban entity combines the architectural function and the inner logic of urban development with urban space together through architectural entity organically. HOPSCA reflects the concept of compact city, also a typical reflection of city compact development.Through the interaction of blocks, road transportation and kinds of different architectural groups, the internal space in HOPSCA formed highly intensive urban open public spaces. HOPSCA fulfills the space requirement for business, office, living, exhibition, dining, conference, leisure, entertainment and other urban function, finally forms a multifunctional and high efficiency economic aggregate.As an essential component of HOPSCA, the external space acts as a bridge and link between architectural and urban space. The integrity and independence of external space completes the integration of HOPSCA architectural and urban space organically, forms a diversified space with urbanism, open and intensive properties, extends urban public space and then relieves the intense urban space resource. So the external space of HOPSCA is of great value for the promoting the urban space and the HOPSCA’s space quality itself.Base on the Compact city concept, the deeply research on the external space of HOPSCA design is of great practical significance and theoretical investigation value.This thesis reviews the development background on the external space of HOPSCA and academic research on compact city concept both from domestic and external. And also this paper extracts the academic research on design concept about the external space of HOPSCA, sums up the research achievement of great importance. Then, this paper summarizes the reference and guidance value of compact city concept to external space of HOPSCA design. Through the investigate and survey of external space of HOPSCA and then this thesis analyses the existing problems deeply and studies the connotation, type and space requirement of HOPSCA external space. By deeply research on the compact city concept, I try to find out the various constructive elements and design points of HOPSCA external space in the compact city construction process. In the end, I comes up with the design strategy and suggestions for how to improve the HOPSCA external space based on the compact city concept direction. In this thesis I select the New Sun Plaza in Langfang City as my survey object and design practice, let the design strategy applies to the actual project. Form the aspect of urban development, focuses on the researching on the future HOPSCA external space development and design strategy, hoping to offer a reference for later design to some extend.
