With progress of globalization and urbanization, the traditional culture and feature of nation are disappearing gradually. Although village is birthplace and reversing place of traditional culture, it is facing the risk of being dilapidated. Through research of protection and reuse of rural architecture, we explore protection of natural rural culture and environment, continuation of characteristics of rural areas and construction of beautiful countryside.Increasingly convenient transportation is reducing the need to storage of agricultural products in rural areas. Barn, cotton warehouses are lying idle. Some workshops in villages have been eliminated, buildings storing corresponding industrial materials are being gradually abandoned. Varieties of buildings in different periods constitute the rich cultural connotation and human landscape of rural areas. So the rural buildings in villages are essential. It is meaningful in culture, environment and space to reuse the storage building according to development in rural areas.Thesis consists of five chapters, the first chapter introduces motivation of the study, and determines the objects and methods of this study. The second chapter studies status of warehouse building and key points of renovation with combination of the background of rural construction plan. The third chapter analyzes the regional architectural theory and construction theory, and analyzes specific cases from the perspective of the two theories. The forth chapter summarizes the strategies and techniques of warehouse building based on the second chapter and the third chapter. The fifth chapter shows the utilization of designing strategies and techniques in specific project by analyzing the Zhujiadian brick factory renovation case.
