Waterfront,as a joint action of one of the most intense areas between human activities and natural processes,the planning involved adverse facts included multi-disciplinary, multi-faceted problem, and the result of a tremendous impact on the future design of shore is also crucial of resting, drainage and other functions.Currently,the waterfront landscape design at home and abroad are mostly concentrated on creating a sign or constructing open space and resting functions, which ignores the rain exclusion security issues,leading the problem of flooding.In this paper we describe some concepts and methods of multi-objective in urban waterfront landscape designing of waterfront planning at home and abroad at present,plus the defect like inadequate design and single-sided target and so on.We investigate the waterfront landscape ecology planning and design method which is based on rainwater safe accumulation right after summarizing the existing waterfront landscape design measures, combining with the idea of safe in exclusion,hatching from the urban soil conservation security concept.Above all we come to following conclusion:first and foremost,reducing river straightening, shaping retaining river in nature pattern;secondly,reducing river cement lining and preserving the original riverbank;thirdly,excavating vice river landscape in economically developed areas;fourthly,associating concave grass lands which have different depth as a system which could utterly absorb runoff from the bank of river;fifthly,unpicking big square,dividing them into sparing small square which are surrounded by grass lands;sixth of all,reducing cement imperious pavement,applying more permeable paving materials for pavement,ground and so on;last but not least,installing rainwater collection system in economically developed areas.At the very end this paper exemplify above theory with example in Lijiang,Guilin.
