Application And Research Of Xiangxi Traditional Elements In Rural Dwelling

There are many ancient cities in Xiangxi and its nation creates splendid culture on this piece of land. As is known to all, its traditional culture is a bright gems of Chinese culture, whose unique form and style occupies an important position in Chinese traditional culture. But with the development of technology and social economy, the nationality of traditional elements in Xiangxi is faced with great pressures and challenges, so we should take measures to protect it as soon as possible. Thus, in this paper, with Gaoyi for example, I divided xiangxi traditional elements into three parts as xiangxi traditional architectural elements, xiangxi traditional furniture and xiangxi traditional decorative elements, to extract its external form and internal spirit and discuss the application of xiangxi traditional elements in Rural Dwelling. I hope that I’ll discusse some solutions to the inheritance of traditional culture and the design of rural dwelling.In this paper, three important methods are used, there are literature query method, on-the-spot investigation method, practice and summary. Before the start of the peper, we did a depth research to know the foundation of Gaoyi together with my supervisor’s design team. As a result, I took a keen interest in it, so I decided to write this paper. In the process of writing, not only did I participate in the project of reconstructing Gaoyi’s rural dwelling, I also accumulated practical experience. what’s more, I also referred to a considerable amount of literature, what laid a solid theoretical basis to my paper.This paper mainly divided into four parts: the first chapter narrates the origin, the present situation, the significance of the study,the research objects, the research scope and the research method of the paper; The second chapter, I divided xiangxi traditional elements into three parts as xiangxi traditional architectural elements, xiangxi traditional furniture and xiangxi traditional decorative elements, and their specific type and function, the design of characteristics and the connotation is analyzed and expounded in this part. Thus we have a clear understanding of what I research in, which lay the solid foundation to the application of xiangxi traditional elements. The third chapter analyzes the principles and methods we will use in the process of puting xiangxi traditional elements into rural dwelling application. The fourth chapter, with the Gaoyi village for example, I fully discussing the application of the Xiangxi’s traditional elements in rural dwelling. By extracting the representative xiangxi traditional elements,I get the methods to apply it to the reconstruction of Gaoyi. The development of the whole thesis is from whole to parts, from macro to micro, in order to find ways for rural dwelling renovation and construction.Gaoyi village are extremely rich in terms of traditional elements. After we deeply integrate its resources with right principles and methods, we know how to reconstruct Gaoyi’s rural dwelling. In the end,I draw the conclusion: not only should we conform to the local actual situation,we also should respect the people’s willing and create the village for Gaoyi’s people.
