China automobile and parts industry have produced a spurt of growth after China accessed to the WTO. The lure of the big market in China, the giants of multinational auto parts are racing to invest to China. They created the new battleground besides in the developed countries such as Europe, the United States and Japan.Bumper is also an integral part of auto parts. Its status for the whole car is quite important. In recent years, China’ auto industry has also developed gradually from manufacturing to design. So it created a very important issue that is how to control the progress of the design project of bumpers.The object of study is a car A front bumper assembly design project schedule management, content of this paper is based on the theory of project management, through the development of the optimization project plan, project schedule to take effective control methods, to strengthen the various project stage time control activities, and ultimately benign control of the entire project. This paper firstly introduces the development of project management, schedule management tools, main theory and method, and discusses the importance of time management in project management. Secondly, it introduces the management process and the basic content of bumper design project. Finally, it makes the analysis and research for the time schedule of the project management in the design of the bumper by related principle and method of the time schedule control in the process of project management. In addition, some issues and defects in the process of project schedule management were summarized and the corresponding improvement suggestions were put forward.
