On the background of the aging society,our country’s age structure is aging fast, the family structure miniaturization and endowment function weakened. The very elderly, empty nest elderly and the disabled elderly’s population is increasing rapidly, more and more old people choose to stay in a nursing home to spend their twilight years. Today, a lot of elderly facilities have been developed and constructed in a large-scale in our country. This thesis mainly focus on the designing of home for the aged, designed in the elderly-oriented way, aiming to meet the physical, psychological and activities demand of the existing older adults and the elderly in the future life. Hoping foe the building space is more humanized, and providing the elderly a more comfortable living environment.Firstly, the thesis summarized the pension modes and generalized the pension building types of Japan and the United States. And then in the form of case analysis summarized the elderly-oriented humanized architecture and environment design of Japan’s DuoMoPing apartment for the aged. At the same time, the author combined the Beijing Oriental sun city endowment communities and Tianjin Wuqing endowment field research demonstration area, to our country community endowment and institution endowment of optimum design of aging is analyzed and summarized. Then, the author made some researches on different care needs of the old man and carried on an induction summary, physiological and psychological needs for nursing home building space layout, function configuration of feedback guidance. Finally, the author made the theory combined with practice, the optimum aging pension construction design applied to the architectural design of Beijing Oriental sun city’s home for the aged.
