Study Of Urban House Adapted For The Aged People's Living In Xi'an

Xi'an is going to be an aging-city as a result of rapidly increasing aging population. The trend of population aging will be growing in the next 50 years. It has been one of the important elements which influence the development of society and economy. It concerns everyone and every family to solve the issue of the aging dwelling and improve the living quality of the aged people.By analyzing the present state and perspectives of population aging in Xi'an; conducting an investigation into the life style and dwelling requirement of the elderly; studying on the basis , advantage and problems of the mode of "elderly support at home"; drawing lessons from the foreign resolution of aging dwelling issue; this dissertation suggest that it must follow the idea "common house for the aged ".to solve the mass and universal problems of aging dwelling. That means take their dwelling requirement into account when people being aged in the present house-design-and-construct, so as to easy their aging life in the future. The dissertation probes how to adapt the house for the aged people's living in dwelling unit type, interior facilities and environment, and public facilities. It also discuss the support for aging dwelling in policy, developing of house facilities, finance and other aspects, especially the feasible plan of installing elevator to an existent multi-floor building. In conclution, the dissertation sums up the design gist which adapt the common house for the elderly. At present, the citizen in Xi'an generally tend to take "elderly support at home" as their elderly support mode, well the occupancy factor of apartment for the aged is very low. We should prepare to meet the need of aging society, renovating house-design idea ,constructing the urban houses adapted for the aged people's living, making safe ,convenient and comfort living environment for them.
