| With the economic globalization and continuous development of China’s economy, business premises are no longer as immutable as before enterprise shows unprecedented mobility as the talent does. More and more enterprises are enthusiastic about setting up subsidiaries in different places so as to expand business scale and areas, and some enterprises even choose to relocate headquarters in new city, seeking more favorable policies and a variety of high-quality resources, and striving for more sustainable and long-term development. It can be concluded that relocation of enterprise headquarters has become a kind of new phenomenon worth paying attention to.In order to improve production and management capability as well as core competitiveness by virtue of regional advantages, TC, a company located in Zibo City of Shandong Province, plans to relocate its headquarters in Qingdao, and achieve ultimately smooth transition of two-premise operation. However, deviation is inevitable during the implementation. Therefore, progress control shall, on the basis of the pre-prepared relocation schedule, be enhanced during implementation to overcome any problem occurred so as to avoid delays in the project and ensure smooth implementation of the project.In this paper, relocation of TC headquarters is treated as a complete and integrate project. It focuses mainly on application of theory and methods for progress control. Firstly, prepares practical schedule for the project; Secondly, raises progress control plan and organization; and finally, demonstrates the specific methods and measures for project progress control, and compare them with those of similar projects. Thus, research and demonstrate the effectiveness of applying project management and systematic management in such complex project like the relocation of headquarters, which involves multiple subprojects and discipilines, and necessity of the created" Optimizing project management organization, making clear responsibility matrix, improving inspection and evaluation, subdividing progress control targets, adjusting and updating schedule, implementating safeguard methods, keeping feedback mechanism unblocked", as well as the practical significance for shortening executuion period and smooth realization of project objectives. |
