The modern traffic density, axle load,causing cracks,pavement rutting,pit and other early disease phenomenon is obvious,seriously affect the life of pavement, the asphalt mixture to add fiber to improve its road performance is the common method.Fiber asphalt mixture is a kind of high quality composite material. This kind of material can not only prevent pavement cracking, but also reduce the appearance of rut, also can make up for the low temperature brittleness of asphalt and other characteristics, obviously improve the pavement performance of asphalt mixture, and prolong the service life of pavement.In view of the advantages of fiber can effectively improve the road performance of asphalt mixture, the use of basalt fiber as the main research object, based on the SMA asphalt mixture, the properties of asphalt mixture based on matrix asphalt and modified asphalt mixture were analyzed. The performance of the basalt fiber asphalt mixture was studied by using the rutting test, bending test and freeze-thaw splitting test. The high temperature stability, low temperature crack resistance and water stability of the basalt fiber asphalt mixture were studied. The analysis results show that the optimum asphalt asphalt mixture ratio and fiber volume is the two most important factors. The research results provided the experimental basis for the application of basalt fiber type fiber and the design and construction of fiber asphalt mixture.In this paper, we mainly study the basalt fiber asphalt mixture from the following five aspects:(1) the experimental study on the performance of the raw materials used in the asphalt mixture is carried out to design three different mineral aggregate gradation.(2) through the Marshall test method to determine the different content of basalt fiber SMA-13 optimal asphalt aggregate ratio, establish the correspondence of a fiber content and the optimum asphalt aggregate ratio.(3) the influence of matrix asphalt and SBS modified asphalt on the three indexes of asphalt was compared with the content of different basalt fiber.(4) study on the optimal amount of fiber. Based on the high temperature rutting test and low temperature bending test of the mixture, the optimum content of basalt fiber in asphalt mixture is studied, and the optimum asphalt content is determined.(5) performance analysis of Xuan Wuyan fiber asphalt mixture. The road performance of basalt fiber in SMA-13 was studied by laboratory test method. A comparative analysis is made on the way of high temperature, low temperature and water stability. The results show that the basalt fiber has a better effect on the road performance of asphalt mixture.Through the research on the performance of the test road, it is proved that basalt fiber asphalt mixture has good effect and application value.
