Due to the rapid growth of road traffic and increase of vehicle axle load, the early disease phenomenon of asphalt concrete pavement is increasingly prominent, the asphalt pavement rutting and crack diseases are particularly serious. In view of the above, the road workers carried out the researches for such problems focusing on improving the road performance of asphalt concrete pavement, lengthening the service deadline of asphalt pavement. And the basalt fiber as a new material studied in this dissertation effectively improves the road performance of asphalt mixture, which has broad application prospects in road engineering. Although the basalt fiber used in asphalt mixture has its advantages, the research about basalt fiber modified asphalt mixture had a late start, and the research about the basalt fiber applied to low-noise asphalt pavement is rarely reported. So, the road performance of basalt fiber low-noise asphalt pavement needs further research and validation. Therefore, the influence laws of different factors on the noise reduction performance of open graded asphalt mixture were analyzed by the orthogonal experiment and standing wave tube test in this dissertation. And the indicators of basalt fiber asphalt were measured using the penetration test, softening point test, ductility test, elastic recovery test and apparent viscosity test, which were used to reveal the action mechanism between basalt fibers and asphalt. In addition, the indicators of water stability, high temperature stability, low temperature stability, water permeability, anti-skid performance were measured by laboratory tests for the open-graded asphalt mixture with different contents of basalt fiber, and the influence of basalt fiber content on the road performance of open graded asphalt mixture. Finally, the mix design and construction technology of basalt fiber modified asphalt mixture were proposed from the perspective of test road.
