Basalt fiber is one of high-tech Fibers which used natural basalt ore asthe raw material. To Mix Basalt fiber into concrete and mortar, the basicphysical and mechanical properties of the concrete and mortar can beenhanced.Based on a large number of tests, this paper investigates the basicphysical and mechanical properties of Chopped Basalt Fiber Concrete andcement Mortar, and the main conclusions of this study are as follows:1. The basic properties of basalt fiber material tested are suitable toenhance the properties of concrete and cement mortar.2. To mix different contents and different lengths of chopped basaltfiber and carbon fiber into the concrete, the compressive strength andflexural property of the concrete can improved in varying degrees, but thedegrees of improving are different.3. The paper has researched the changes of cement mortar oncompressive strength and splitting tensile strength after the cement mortarmixed by different contents (volume) and different lengths of basalt fiberand carbon fiber. The results show that the incorporation of carbon fiber and basalt fiber can improve the compressive strength and splitting tensilestrength of the cement mortar, and the effect of content (volume) on thestrength of cement mortar is more notable than the length.4. The paper has investigated the effect of incorporation of basalt fiberon the chloride ion corrosion resistance of reinforced concrete flexuralmembers. The results showed that the mixing of basalt fiber can reduce thechloride ion concentration at the pure bending section of concrete beamtested; it also can increase the cracking load of reinforced concrete beam.5. The paper has researched the changes of cement mortar on adhesionstrength after the cement mortar mixed by different contents (volume) anddifferent lengths of basalt fiber and carbon fiber. The conclusions showedthat with the increasing amount of basalt fiber, the adhesion strength ofcement mortar gradually increased; the carbon fibers also have the similarenhancement. |
