The Research On Urban Renewal Design Problems In Post-industrial Era

In the background of the post-industrial era, In representative of Baotou, a group of emerging industrial city planning issues face varying degrees of problems, such as the economic restructuring, industrial restructuring, social transformation, urban space reconstruction and so on. Therefore, the update problem is particularly important in these cities, has a scientific and practical significance. Steel street is a typical sign of emerging industrial city of Baotou, carries the memories and emotions of Baotou construction. In the preparation of "Baotou Steel Street Urban Design" process, urban regeneration problems caused my thinking.In this paper, on the context of "reverse industrialization" phenomenon accurred in most of the cities which developed on the basis of manufacturing industry,we regarded the emerging industrial city in China under special historical conditions of modern renovation as the study target. First, we analysed the development process and planning mode and features of a modern industrial city of China, combined with requirements of the socio-economic on Post-industrial era, and analyzed the current situation in China today as the representative of a group of Baotou emerging industrial development of the city and its problems which came from the aspects of urban industrial structure, urban space layout, urban environment and urban transportation, public open space, urban construction status.In this paper, on the practice of update design in Baotou Steel Street, summed up some of the strategies for China’s emerging industrial city in post-industrial transformation: respect the historical and cultural resources and industrial heritage; let functional layout to adapt to industry updates; ecological environment of sustainable development; compact, recognizable space, transportation-oriented public transportation system and so on. After emerging industrial city in the country is going to enter post-industrial era, renovation policy of Baotou Steel Street will have practical guidance.
