A Contrast Study On The Traditional Village Morphology Of Jingle County In Shanxi Province

Shanxi is named because of it is located in the west of Taihang mountain, the east through the Taihang mountain is connect with Hebei province, the west is the Yellow River and Shaanxi province, the north is Inner Mongolia and the south is Henan province. It’s common is simple and frugal and consider things profound. It’s quality is generous and brave, perseverance and stand hard work. It has a long history of civilization and the natural environment is complicated and the traditional culture is rich and colorful. The traditional villages and dwellings of Shanxi province is breed in such an environment, after the culture edification and development as long as thousands years, it make the form of traditional villages show some similarity characteristics and have some different characteristics at the same time. These similarity and different characteristics reflect among every regions in the whole province include some small counties. Jingle county is located in the intersection of Jinxi and Jinbei, its territory have many mountainous and belong to Fenhe river basin of the loess plateau region. The temperature difference is big between day and night and lack of rain, the variety of factors contributed to the unique local culture and village form. The space form and dwellings of these traditional villages reflect the building thought and survival wisdom of local residents, and show the distinct similarity and different characteristics. The main content of this paper is to study the traditional villages morphology in Jingle county, expounds these similarity and different characteristics and attempt to analyze the main influencing factors from some perspectives.Paper is divided into five chapters, among them, the first chapter is the introduction. The second chapter is the summarize about Jingle county’s overall environment. In the third chapter, firstly, choose several village samples randomly from all the natural villages in Jingle county. Secondly, survey and induced the space form of these villages and analyze the basic type by the typed methods. Thirdly, through the contrast research, find out the similarity and different characteristics among the traditional villages. The fourth chapter is choose two model villages from the sample villages which in the different types to have a comparison research, including the external and internal space form of village, yard layout, dwelling form and building detail and so on. Then, through to analyze the natural environment, economic condition, blood linage, family structure, lifestyle and religion, etc., between two typical villages to explore the main influencing factors which produce the similarity and different characteristics. The last chapter is mainly to put forward some rational opinions and suggestions about the protection and development of Jingle county’s villages.In this paper, through the study of a county’s traditional villages that hope have a demonstration, not only provide some certain guidance to the Jingle county’s traditional villages, but also provide a new research ideas and perspectives for the study of traditional villages in the whole of Shanxi province and even the countrywide. Then keep it all over the world.
