The traditional reservoir monitoring and control system are made by artificial operation separately, finishing the reservoir hydrologic information and safety monitoring,which is big workload and complicated, and at the same time has a certain blindness,cannot complete a whole range of the reservoir real-time monitoring,and the form is not a unified network,with the continuous development of water conservancy informationization, people based on WEB integration technology, made the perfect combination of hardware and system software by Internet,and made reservoir monitoring automation and standardization. That policymakers will be able to query the reservoir real-time operation condition,and not limited by time and place,so that to make the right decision in time.Today automation monitoring system is the most important part of water resources management, the monitoring data is the main decision-making basis of hydrographic forecast, dam safety monitoring, flood control and drought relief, and the reservoir optimal operation. Reservoir monitoring automation system is a real-time monitoring and operating system of automatic collection, sharing and analysis of hydrologic data,real-time acquisition and processing for hydrological and meteorological data of the reservoir area,such as precipitation, storage capacity, excretion and reservoir water level and so on, monitoring reservoir operation throughout the day at the same time,the hydrologic data is passed to the reservoir dispatching center using the network technology,from the reservoir management decision makers make judgment, thus greatly improve the level of the reservoir operation and management.Based on the Daquangou reservoir optimal operation and flood control engineering as the backing,on the basis of the combination of hydrology and water resources, water resources management, computer network and database technology and system engineering, etc,research of the reservoir automatic monitoring system. The composition of hardware, software and the realization of function that reservoir automatic monitoring system were introduced in detail. At the same time,analyses the characteristics that automatic monitoring system of the Daquangou reservoir,aimed at the some problems in the operation of reservoir monitoring automation system,combined with discuss the factors affecting the reliability of the system,research how to improve the reliability of reservoir automatic monitoring system,and put forward the measures of improving the security and reliability of system,for managerial personnel to provide timely and accurate decision-making basis.
