Hydraulic project is the most fundamental infrastructure, which is also one of the oldest industries.The reservoir burdens the grand responsibilities of water supply, flood protection, drought mitigation and so on. These goals can only be achieved on the premise of high-efficiency management. Since efficient management depends on modern ways and facilities, which can be provided by the automatic management system based on computer control, it is fairly necessary to establish an automatic observation system for reservoir.Currently, some big and medium sized reservoirs have been equipped with their own automatic observation systems, but amount of problems leading to the system abortion, such as system instability, lower precision and accuracy of sensing data, scarce of continuity, insufficient function value and so on, still remained which are caused by the absence of systematic and practical design.Based on the existing problems in contemporary reservoir automatic observation systems, this paper summarizes the experienced practical knowledge, and demonstrates the systematic feasible design plan with high stability and reliability. The cadre content is as follows:Firstly, the design purposes and significance of reservoir automatic observation system and the current status of them both at home and abroad are discussed. Besides, the existing problem of reservoir automatic observation system in our country is highlighted.Secondly, the water regime telemetry system is set up by radio communication to achieve the intime monitoring of water regimen. By adopting double-channel communication fashion and choosing mobile network as a spare channel, the quality of commulication is improved and the system cost is reduced; By using sensor technology, data Acquirement Method and Fieldbus, inner seepage observation system is established to achieve the goal of seepage observation. For wire laid, with burried galvanized steel pipe, power line arrester and the separation of communication signal, the disturbance of thunder is remarkably reduced and the stability of system is improved. The automatica control of flood gate is conducted with PLC technique, which is followed by automativa monitoring with roll-opening indicator. By using image processing, data transmission, network technology, the video monitoring system is designed to monitor critical parts of the reservoir.Then, by designing the corresponding system software, the realization processes and malfun-ction is demonstrated. It is proved that the system designed in this paper is conducted with reliability and safety.Finally, the thesis is summarized and the open problems for further research are also discussed.
