Along with the continuous improvement of our country economy and culture’s development, the society pay more and more attention to the development of undertakings for disabled persons. Because of the disability and the small age, disabled children is becoming the focus of social concern. In recent years, the design and construction of various types of rehabilitation facilities associated with the disabled children is being carried out in full swing. Nursing unit plays an important role in the process of rehabilitation for disabled children. It need change and improvement complying with the development of the times, people’s growing demand. In the past, the disabled child care unit of our country is designed and constructed to meet the basic needs of hospitalization. It is not much different with the ordinary nursing unit’s form. But because of the special physical and psychological characteristics of children with disabilities, it determines that the nursing unit for disabled children is special in the function, space and the details of the design. The integration of training and living nursing units for disable children arises at the historic moment.In this paper, I analyze and discuss on the background, the proposal, the theory, the practical basis, the function, the space and the detail design of the integration of training and living nursing units for disable children. In this paper, the rehabilitation institution of the disabled children is a research object, which is built in different time and in different regions and belongs to different rehabilitation organizations. It is also based on the relevant theoretical research results and the developed countries’ related theory and practice project. I strive to provide a new idea and method for the design and construction of the nursing unit for the disabled children and to make the disabled children become better and faster rehabilitation.It is worth to emphasize that the integration of training and living nursing units for disable children is an innovative model. It is arised based on the author’s field study and many studies.Now,there is few similar engineering practice appearing. This paper contains some reference valuable examples related to children with disabilities, and the instance which is completely fit to integrated nursing unit is very rare. In addition, the domestic research on the disabled children care unit is in a blank state, and the relevant information is extremely lack. So this paper has some advanced and practical significance.This paper is divided into four parts and include seven chapters. The first part includes the first chapter which is introduction and the two chapter which is “the nursing unit for disabled children”. It describes the background, the contents, the significance, the limitations, the research methods of this study and research review at home and abroad. The research object’s concept, scope, construction demand, development history and the disable children’s physical and psychological characteristics are also analyzed. This part set the direction for study. The second part includes the third chapter and the fourth chapter, to clarify the present situation of the space for the disabled children’s nursing and training and the reason of the integration of the nursing unit’s proposal. In the same time, this part also elaborate the theoretical basis, practical basis and the application for the proposal of the integration of training and living nursing units for disable children. The third part includes the fifth chapter and the sixth chapter, is the focus of this paper. This part introduce the integration of training and living nursing units for disable children comprehensively from it’s definition, function, spatial pattern and detail design through the summary and analysis of the relevant theory and practice of project. The fourth part includes the seventh chapter. This part make the summarization and the prospect of the integration of the nursing unit through the combination of the above four parts of the study.
