Study On The Design Of Hospital Nursing Units Model

The medical models are transforming from pure biomedical model to the combinational mode of biology, psychology and sociology. Under this circumstance, the function of hospitals is changing from simply medical treatment to the combination of curing, healthcare, prophylaxis and recovering, and this transformation must have important effects on the design of architecture design.In the initial stages of medical system reformation, some large-scale hospitals in big cities are under going rebuild, expansion and even reconstruction, and it is prognosticated that more hospitals in small cities will require to be rebuild also.The nursing unit is the essential component where patients and sibs spend most of their time. Thus, the quality of its design will have significant impact on the curing and recovery of patients.Most architects having opportunities getting in touch with the design of hospitals (nursing units) have been confused with the complicated and variable hospital section office functions. Similarly to the other substances in this world, general principles are predicted behind the complicated phenomenon. To the case of hospital design, the principle can be realized as Systemic Design Language.Based on these backgrounds, the thesis aims to create a common language for the design of nursing units in large-scale urban hospital in China. This language will be able to a reference and alleviating the repetition architecture design of nursing units in the future.This thesis focuses on the macroscopical impact of the development of medical modes on the hospital architecture and nursing unit design. The author put forward the resolvent of surmounting the disadvantagel existing in newly-builted nursing units though consulting literatures, autoptical investigations and questionnaires. The newly design mode language for large-scale urban hospitals nursing is workouted fitting for the contemporary medical design model, based on the methods advanced in Architecture Mode Languegby C. Alexandre. Anymore, the elementary application of the modal language is introduced though the author's engineering experiences.
