With the development of science and technology, especially the rise of modern industry, the motor is no longer just to provide power, but also has new requirements, such as small size, low noise, anti-electromagnetic interference and high torque, etc., because conventional motor own shortcomings,it has been difficult to meet these new requirements. For this reason, many scholars are trying to study all kinds of new motors; one of the most typical kinds of new motor is USM(Ultrasonic Motor, referred USM). USM has a simple and compact structure, fast response, good electromagnetic compatibility and control, etc., and has been widely used in many fields,such as aerospace, medical equipment, precision instruments, robots and so on.In this paper, the inverse piezoelectric effect of the piezoelectric element is the theoretical basis, elaborating motion mechanism of linear ultrasonic motor by the vibration equation, and using ANSYS finite element analysis software for modeling and simulation of the motor stator analysis, including modal analysis and harmony response analysis, resulting in the motor stator vibration modes and frequency, to verify the correctness of the principles of motor sports. Then, according to the piezoelectric transducer theory, the ultrasonic motor stator’s electrical equivalent model to characterize the mechanical quantity by quantity of electricity, and it is easy to design and study of the driving circuit. Use admittance circle method to calculate the four parameters of equivalent circuit roughly, then use nonlinear least squares optimization algorithm to calculate accurately. Design the matching circuit by calculating parameters, and complete simulation and analysis of the entire circuit.Meanwhile, according to the theoretical analysis, give the specific hardware and software design. The hardware part is divided into two parts, the main control circuit and the drive circuit. The chip of the main circuit is STM32 chip as the core of ARM, and is responsible for signal generation, motor speed calculation, communication and other functions. The driving portion is made of the inverter amplifying circuit, including MOSFET and transformer, driving the motor via the matching circuit. The software part includes PWM signal generating part, the motor speed calculation part, communication part, and motor position control part.Finally, complete the building of the experimental platform, debug on hardware devices, and test ultrasonic motor prototype through a series of experiments to verify reliable and stable performance of the devices, but also to verify the reasonableness and feasibility of ultrasonic motor prototype.
