In order to study diesel locomotive AC-DC electric-drive system, this thesis makes a analysis of the primary capability parameters of AC-DC electric-drive system, under the train's running state, such as traction dynamotor's voltage/ current, pulling power and train velocity, then makes a research in the ideal running characteristic and the adjust characteristic of dynamotor and the speed adjust characteristic of electromotor with the theory of AC-DC electric-drive. Furthermore, this thesis establishes the mathematical AC-DC electric-drive's model with references to the capability parameters of the series of DF7 diesel locomotive by using Visual Basic. When the model is established, this thesis calculates the key tache that is traction dynamotor's voltage with the method of simulating the adjust characteristic of dynamotor and works out the whole mathematical model. This thesis also validates the exactitude of the AC-DC electric-drive's mathematical model by contrasting the model's simulation data with the data of the series of DF7 diesel locomotive's water-resistance load test.This thesis does research in simulating the locomotive's electric signals which is provided to the control system in the locomotive and designs a simulation device which is based on CAN bus and modern measurement and control technique, and followed the criterion of railway industry. The simulation of the locomotive's electric signals is realized when the hardware and software of the device is finished. Under laboratory environment, this device can provide the locomotive's control system with locomotive's well running state, which is simulated by the mathematical electric-drive's model.Based on the mathematical electric-drive's model, some faults of locomotive' electric-drive equipment which can not be tested really, such as locomotive's racing and dynamotor's current impulsion are simulated and analyzed. Then the testing data is provided for the research of these non-experiment faults.
