With the gradual depletion of global resources and the increasingly seriousenvironmental pollution, it is very urgent and necessary to popularize theenvironmentally friendly, energy-saving electric cars in worldwide. Electricvehicle industry in China is in its infancy. The test of drive system is particularlyimportant in the process of development of new technologies for electric vehicles.This paper studies and builds test platform of the drive system electric vehicle,including the development of the control section and PC operator interface, themain aim is test the efficient of the drive system and simulate the load, and laysthe foundation for further work and study of the test platform.On the basis of detailed analysis of the structure and function of the testplatform of electric vehicle drive system, this paper determines the program tobuild the platform.To make the platform more versatility, this paper modular thestructure of the system depending on its function. To simulate the mechanicalinertia of the car truly, all kinds of resistance when car is moving are analyzedin-deep, and the mathematical model of electric car is built based on th ese.The shortcomings of the traditional mechanical inertia simulation method isanalyzed and using a motor to simulate the mechanical inertia in this paper.According to the principle of conservation of energy, the mechanical inertia isconverted to motor's axis. Comparison of the control method of the platform,speed control is used in this paper, because studies have shown that it is moreaccurate than torque control. The development of the prototype ofthe testplatform is introduced from two aspects, hardware and software.The test platform is built on the basis of these studies above. The drivesystem test and load simulation test are carried to verify the r eliability of the testplatform of the drive system. It can provide reliable data for the construction ofdriving system efficiency model and provide the basis for the study of the controlstrategy of optimal efficiency control to electric vehicle drive system. Accordingto efficiency evaluation, calculation algorithm of energy efficiency is proposedin this paper. The factors which affect the test results of test are analyzed, andrelatively, some solutions are proposed. These studies lay the foundation fo r thefurther work and improvement of the test platform, and have a positivesignificance to the research and development of electric vehicles.
