With the rapid growth of China’s economy in recent decades, great changes have taken place in the city walking environment. In recent years, with the improvement in people’s lives and raised appreciation level for cultures, people also demand higher standards of living environment and the quality of culture and art. It’s eternal human nature longing for nature and pursuing beauty. The research in pavement design of urban pedestrian environment is the first step for people to access ecological environment and enjoy urban environment aesthetic experiences.The reality of China pavement in the urban environment is copycat of pavement design and pavement result can be seen everywhere. China’s urban walking status of the pavement design considerations of the environment is almost none. Therefore, in light of the above situation, at a time when people increasingly demand for high standard of urban environment, how to meet the functional requirements of the pavement and pedestrian and strengthen its expression in all aspects of art, culture and design, is the important question to ask in urban pavement environment design. Through the research in pavement design of urban pedestrian environment, not only it can improve the urban ecological environment, promote harmony between man and nature, urban and nature, but also it can guide future urban pavement practical design direction, especially the direction for design in culture, art, and psychological needs, to provide specific reference, to create natural and livable urban environment.Through on site investigation and analysis, investigation and reading of domestic and foreign current urban walking environment pavement and real-life case studies, standing on the perspective of urban development, with sensory and psychological feelings of people as the premise, the author offers a set of pedestrian pavement design scheme with combination of art and culture in mind that can be used for a long time. As the main research topic of this thesis, the author hopes it contribute to pavement design of urban pedestrian environment in our country.
