An Analysis And Evaluation Of The Qual Ity Of Urban Publick Space

With the rapid development of urban renewal, the issue of the urban public space is getting more attentions from the public, which influences the people’s activities very much. Currently, during the process of construction of urban public space, China is putting too much emphasis on “quantity”, while overlook the “quality”to improve. Meanwhile, the construction of the urban public space is lacking the feedback of the effect after the implementation, in other words,lacking the scientific evaluation mechanism. Most of urban public space analysis and evaluations are still superficial,and lacking the systematic work with completeness.Therefore, as a breakthrough point, the thesis analyzes the quality of the urban public space by constructing evaluation system and case study, which attempts to achieve a better urban environment in future plans.The thesis follows the research method of finding the problem, analyzing the problem, and solving the problem, which consists of six parts:The first and the second chapter mainly discuss the relevant theory about the urban public space, and put forward the research methods and frameworks in the paper. Then, by using systematic theory, the author generalizes the optimistic urban public space system.In the third chapter, the author suggests the urban public space quality evaluation system by using mathematical theory, statistics knowledge and sociological studies. The evaluation system includes the evaluation procedure, evaluation methods, evaluation indicators and the implementation the of evaluation.The forth chapter, the author takes an empirical study of the yuzhong peninsula in chongqing city urban balcony. After investigating the current situation of the city balcony, and practicing the evaluation system mentioned before, the author comes up with the results.By analyzing the evaluation results, and summarizing the existing problems, the author offers the optimization control strategy the optimization design of linjiangmen urban balcony in the fifth part.Last but not least, the sixth chapter mainly makes the conclusion, presents the limitation and shortcomings of the research, and provides suggestions for researches in the future.
