As the urbanization is speeding up, the high-density mode becomes a realistic choice of the world city’s construction and development as a sustainable and compact urban form,. However, The situation of resources and population in our country requires that individual citiy must develop in a high-density and intensive way. In fact, many domestic cities have enterd the stage of high-density development, in which the mountainous city has a more significant trend due to the impact of terrain factors.Urban spatial structure is the projection of city economic and social activities, and the synthesis and complexity of high-density development itself will cause a certain impace on the spatial structure. Compared with the plain city, the particularity and complexity of the ecological environment of the mountainous city decide it will face more problems and contradictions. It’s worth noting that under the condition of the resources and environment shortage, the high density development mode is not only the current characteristics but also the future trends.This article is based on the realistic background of high-density development of mountainous cities, focusing on the impact and mechanism of the high-density development to the mountainous city urban structure, and the way to adapt to the current or future needs of high-density development. Then combined with the typical mountainous high-density area-- Chongqing Yuzhong Peninsula as a case, in depth analysis of its structure evolution and current characteristics and problems in the process of the high-density development. The article also propsed the optimization principles and objectives of spatial structure of Yuzhong Peninsula based on the relevant theory and high density development case, and finally explored structure optimization strategy, which can resolve conflicts and lead the mountainous city to develop in an efficient operation way.The article consists of three main parts:The first part(including chapter one): Introduce the research background, the basic concepts involved, purpose and significance of this article, and a brief review of the domestic and foreign research status of spatial structure and the supporting theories of high-density, and pointing out the research contents, method and frame structure.The second part(including chapter two and chapter three): Parse and summarize the specific object, level and content, of mountain city space structure, and explore the influence and function mechanism of high-density development on the mountainous city spatial structure, clearly showing the Directions of spatial structural optimization.The third part(including chapter four, chapter five and chapter six): Take Yuzhong Peninsula in Chongqing as a typical case, and analyze its high-density development process, motivation and the influence and problems due to the high-density. Futher more, based on the the related theory and the spatial optimization case, suggests the optimization principles, objectives and specific implementation of the spatial structure of Yuzhong Peninsula...
