| With the rapid development of economy, urbanization and mobilization, the demand of traffic is increasing. Urban traffic is facing severe challenge. Constructing mass rapid transit has become an important measurement to develop public transportation system. In order to play an important role as a backbone and total benefit for urban rail transit, public transportation system should effectively link between transport systems. Thus, how to cooperate the development of the rail and bus transit has become an urgent task.In the thesis, the coordination of the rail and bus transit is studied from two aspects:enterprises’ operating costs and passengers’ transfer time costs.Firstly, based on the literature review about multimodal transit operation coordination of domestic and other countries, principle and methodology on transfer coordination between rail and bus system are analyzed systematically. Secondly, the new coordination mode is put forward, which considers enterprises’ operating costs and the passengers’ transfer time costs. By allowing some slack time in the vehicle schedules to decrease the probability of missed connections. The slack time is optimized in order to minimum the total delay transfer cost including operators’ delay costs and passengers’ transfer delay costs. The method about how to calculate the total delay transfer costs is discussed, including the operation delay costs and passengers’ transfer delay costs, and the total delay transfer costs regarding four categories of transfer stations on the basis of the probability theory is analyzed. The coordination model is formulated finally. At the last time, through the analyzing of an example, the different categories of transfer stations’ costs are contrasted. The conclusion suggests that the coordination mode could effectively decrease the operation’ delay costs and passengers’ transfer delay costs and discover different categories of transfer stations need different optimal slack time. That could preferably promote the coordinated development of rail and bus transit. The result of the study reveals that the operation coordination can effectively reduce passengers’ transfer time costs as well as the total transfer cost of the system and improve the quality of the transit service without great infrastructure investment. |
