With the “four vertical and four horizontal ”railway express passenger corridor has been put into operation and the high-speed railway network framework has been almost completed in our country’s “long-term railway network plan” strategy, the EMU(Electric Multiple Units)has already covered 28 provinces. These achievements not only greatly enhance the railway transportation quality, but improve the competitive ability of railway passenger transportation market as well. At the same time, it is also a good news to motivate and promote the regional economic and social development. It is no doubt that China’s high-speed rail has become the brand of “going out” government development strategy and extension of international market. Hence, how to guarantee the EMU maintenance quality and stability of safe operation has become a major issue to be solved urgently.EMU has the characteristic of high technology, fast speed and strictly maintenance standard for apply. Based on the analysis of the present overhaul situation, operating procedures and uncontrollable safety factors of EMU grade I operations in China’s railway industry, this paper introduces the technology of RFID(radio frequency identification)which is combined with the actual fieldwork and develops the video assessment system of EMU maintenance operation in order to record the process and quality of work in real-time for the entire video and transmit them to the data center. Moreover, by utilizing the mathematical model to judge and analyze the quality of work procedure, we can avoid EMU quality hidden danger caused by the oversight of workers as well as to achieve the goal of “a matter of control” and improvements in maintenance quality. Above all, this paper provides a new way of thinking aimed to strengthen the EMU fieldwork operations and guarantee the safe and efficient operation of EMU.
