With high-power microwave get more and more attention and development at home and abroad, the measurement of high-power microwave also become the object of the focus of the researchers. The high-power microwave can not be measured by a conventional instrument, typically it is measured by a microwave power meter. Among them, the water load power meter is used more frequently. The water load high power meter, not only has the large power capacity but also own the widely operating frequency range, coupled with its small size, simple structure, usually placed in the terminal of radar and transmitter,which is used as a matched load in a system。So it is the key component of microwave systems.At present,the research for ultra-wideband high power meter in domestic and foreign is relatively small,it is difficult to meet the needs of microwave systems development; the dimensions of narrowband power meter is less than ideal at low operating frequency. For these cases, we will research two kinds of water load power meter which with waveguide structures. The main contents are as follows:First,the design of the ultra-wideband waveguide structure water load power meter, the operating frequency is 6.5GHz~18GHz, the maximum absorbed power is2 KW, water load waveguide section with hard shell aluminum, Water chamber portion of the shell is made of stainless steel, the angle of waveguide mouth oblique is 3.2 °.The piece in microwave radiation mouth is the high density alumina ceramic substrate(Al2O3), the dielectric permittivity of it is 9.3. The seal in the structure is Nitrile rubber O-rings, with the excellent of the top heat is 200 degrees, non-toxic and good waterproof effect.Secondly, the design of the narrow-band waveguide structure water load power meter, the operating frequency is 2.35GHz~2.55 GHz, the maximum absorbed power is2 KW, water load waveguide section with hard shell aluminum, Water chamber portion of the shell is made of stainless steel, the angle of waveguide mouth oblique is 10.5 °.The piece in microwave radiation mouth is PTFE glass cloth laminated board, the dielectric permittivity of it is 9.3.The seal in the structure is Nitrile rubber O-rings.Finally, the test of the ultra-wideband waveguide structure water load with different water temperature. And propose two power testing program.The main technical difficulties of its research are the following areas: power capacity is relatively large, reflecting should be as small as possible( ie, VSWR should be as low as possible), simulation is more difficult and time-consuming. It contains an internal water chamber portions demands high sealing performance and restrictions on the crafts to bring the deviation and so on. Through scientific research, we have successfully developed the ultra-wideband waveguide structure water load power meter.The VSWR is less than 1.2.The maximum power capacity of 2kW.At the same time the narrow-band waveguide structure water load power meter has a a very good simulation optimization result.The maximum VSWR is 1.06,far less than the specified index1.15.It is also underway the last stages of processing and assembly.
