In modern electronic measuring instruments, the spectrum analyzer is widely used in communications, research, production, aerospace, education and many other application areas. With the rapid development of digital processing technology, spectrum analyzers increasingly miniaturized, intelligent, digital.The dissertation introduces a 1.5GHz spectrum analyzer hardware platform based on FPGA, DSP and ARM. The design of the platform includes digital IF processing module design and embedded display-control module design. The digital IF processing module is mainly used for obtaining the spectral data and parsing the command.The design of display-control module includes the read operation of the spectral data,the design of human-computer interface and the external communication interface.The digital IF module is not only designed to complete analog signal conditioning and sampling.It is also designed to obtain the spectral data and parse the command. First,the gain of analog signal can be controlled by FPGA,and the IF analog signal need to be converted to digital signals.Second,FPGA transmit data to/from DSP through the logical circuit interfaces,such as EMIF,McBSP,GPIO and so on. FPGA and DSP works together for obtaining the spectral data and parsing the command. At last, FPGA transmit the spectral data to the display-control module by interface logic circuits.The display-control module is an embedded system based on ARM micro-processor. The display-control module contains many units, include control unit, instrument command/data channels, human-computer interaction unit and some commucation interfaces. The display-control module has a very important role: push the spectrum data to the LCD or/and VGA interface. It also integrates many peripheral interfaces.The final test of the designed spectrum analyzer is completed, and a lot of experimental data are given. These experiments results indicate that the disgn has met all requires of design specifications, and achieves the desired objectives.
